As the scariest time of the year fast approaches, there are plenty of trick and treats across the city for thrill-seekers of all ages.

This Halloween is Shiverpool’s 10th birthday and they’ll be celebrating by offering you the chance to explore the darker side of the city. You can hop on board a ‘ghost bus’ tour through Liverpool, or alternatively you can embark on one of their classic walking routes.
The Hope Street Shivers and Auld City Shivers tours allow you the chance to absorb the city’s ghoulish history both above and underground. Tickets cost £14 for adults and £11 for children.
For those who aren’t scared easily, Farmaggedon is promising its ‘scariest season yet’ with an interactive trailer ride, Zombie Outlaw, brand new for 2015. The popular Halloween attraction in Ormskirk runs for the whole of October and tickets can be purchased at www.farmaggedon.co.uk.
Ghost hunters can check in for a spooky sleepover at St George’s Hall on October 31st and experience a ghost-hunting vigil with top psychics and paranormal investigators. Tickets are £59 and include hot drinks throughout the night and breakfast the following morning.
There will also be a zombie-themed world record attempt at St George’s Hall on the same day.
If you’d prefer a more child-friendly evening, Maghull Town Council is showcasing Disney’s Hocus Pocus at an outdoor cinema on Friday October 30th. The family classic will be shown at the KGV playing fields for a suggested donation of £2 per person.
Sefton Park is hosting a family fun day on Saturday October 24th. The Spooky Welly Walk is a trail through the park featuring over 25 Halloween activities, such as face painting and storytelling. All proceeds from the day go to The Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation.
The popular Lantern Festival will not take place in Sefton Park this Halloween. The event has been postponed until February.
If you fancy getting dressed up in your most ghoulish get-up then The Monster Fancy Dress Ball at the Mersey Planet Bar is the place for you. Limited to just 50 tickets, the evening promises a bar and hot food as well as a competition for the best costume.
