An open-air vintage fair took over Camp and Furnace in the city centre at the weekend but this time with a twist, as the event organised by Pillbox Vintage had a wedding theme. There was entertainment throughout the day to accompany the first-time event, with stalls selling everything from vintage transport to retro wedding dresses.
Other small businesses showcasing their items included a vintage crockery hire stall and a honeymoon ideas stand.
Nadia Moussaada from Pillbox Vintage told JMU Journalism: “Camp and Furnace have a licence for wedding partnerships. A vintage wedding festival fitted in with the Camp and Furnace brand. It was the first one we’d done. I don’t know exact numbers but it certainly exceeded our expectations, especially considering the marathon was on.”
Pillbox Vintage hold regular stalls and fairs in the city centre, and in November they plan to try out a guerrilla fashion show, where they will dress attendees up in their clothes.
