Friends and family of a Wallasey teenager who was killed in a car accident have marked the second anniversary of her death.
Charlotte Churchill, 19, died in April 2011 after the car she was a passenger in hit a tree near Mold in North Wales. Her boyfriend Jason Flaherty and a friend who was driving the red Nissan Micra sustained minor injuries in the collision.
Charlotte’s family and friends have paid tribute to her, posting a message on Facebook which read: “Two years ago Charlotte was sadly taken from us and it still feels like yesterday, not a day goes by were we don’t think about you. Gone but never forgotten and always in our hearts.”
Others also paid their respects to mark the anniversary of her tragic death.
A friend Leah Fox posted: “Thinking of all your close friends & family today, you have touched so many lives and your name, warm heart friendship, and loyalty will always live on.”
Another friend, Danny Tuff, said on Facebook: “It still doesn’t feel normal not having you to talk to anymore. Love and miss you.”
Over 6,500 people have joined a Facebook tribute page to share their memories of Charlotte, including parents of the children she cared for at the Jack and Jill Day Nursery in Wallasey.
The teenager’s legacy lives on through the charity Charlotte’s Brightside CLC which her mum, Angie, set up for local youths following a fundraising drive.
A youth club was created in in New Brighton, which launched in February offering dance classes, a recording studio, and somewhere for young people to hang out.
A ‘Charlotte’s Day’ will see the nursery ‘s family and friends come together at The Boot pub in Wallasey to mark two years since her death.
