The human resource team at Merseyside’s specialist brain hospital has been shortlisted for a national award in the field.
The Walton Centre NHS Foundation Trust HR team is in the running for the Health Service Journal (HSJ) Staff Engagement Award.
Human resource teams from around the UK are considered for the award, and the Walton Health Centre is one of three teams shortlisted for this year’s honour.
The team were also finalists in the Nursing Times Excellence in Supporting Staff Health and Wellbeing Award this month, only to be out done by the winners, York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
Joanne Twist, Deputy Director of HR at the centre, told JMU Journalism: “To be shortlisted for this award is a great achievement for me and the team here. It encourages the staff.
“The Health Journal has recognised how well attended our staff meetings are and shows how hard everyone is working.”
Joanne, who herself has been shortlisted along with two others for the Deputy Director of the Year award, added: “The forward to excellence scheme really maps out areas that need improving.
Director of HR Amanda Oates has already won two awards this year.
The HSJ awards ceremony will take place on November 20th at the Grosvenor Hotel in London.
