A pop-up boutique has been launched in Liverpool One, created by the staff and students of Liverpool Community College.
Hand Made with Love promises to showcase the work of up-and-coming fashion designers and will allow the public to purchase pieces with prices starting at £5.
The store on College Lane includes designer collections, framed artwork, photography, illustrations, jewellery and ceramics.
Jan Schofield, Head of the School of Fashion, Art and Design, said: “Liverpool Community College believes in supporting up-and-coming designers and encouraging an entrepreneurial culture amongst our students.
“These young creatives are the future of British design and the College has been producing amazing talent for many years.
“The Hand Made with Love pop-up boutique provides the perfect chance to showcase fresh and original talents.”
The shop, which will be open everyday except Sundays up until 22nd December, is an ideal opportunity for local students to showcase their work.
Fashion lecturer Charlene Gallery said: “This year, the focus is on creating business and enterprise opportunities for the students and the learners decided that a pop-up is current and on trend, whilst offering them the flexibility.”
The plans for the shop began in July of this year and the shop took two long, exhausting days to set-up.
Charlene said: “Approximately 60 students were involved, from a range of Level 2 and 3 Fashion and Art courses. Students covered everything from product development, marketing and promotion.”
Level Three Fashion student Olivia Robinson was key in securing up and coming band JC and the Two Steps.
Level 3 Fashion Marketing student Evna Anastasiou has set up a sweet shop concession with treats provided by Bold Street Sweets.
