A Liverpool-based film company has released a second TV series on Amazon Prime, offering a platform for local up and coming talent.
XRhodes Films is an independent production company, allowing local artists to be discovered.
The company is now behind for several short films and, most recently, the second instalment of ‘Forward/Jobs’.
The mockumentary-style series follows the life of interviewer ‘Joseph Pecker’, as he attempts to “separate the unstoppable from the unlikely”.
The first series was made with just £60, deemed as a trial run for the company, but was brought to life with local actors, all passionate about the project they were a part off.
XRhodes was founded by Murphy Rhodes, who not only writes, directs and produces both films and programmes, he also acts in them.
Rhodes, 28, told JMU Journalism: “For me, using local cast and crew is massively important. In film and television, Liverpool is so under-represented, and I created my company XRhodes Films to combat that.”

‘Forward Slash/Jobs’ series two was released on 1st November, both series one and two can be found on amazon prime.
Rhodes added: “We’re excited to have released the new series of Forward Slash/Jobs. It explores other parts of the main characters life, including his home, his local pub and even his therapist’s office, yet remain in the same humorous style. The writing is better, the production quality is better and our favourite characters from series one are returning.”
The latest instalment finished filming in August. The company has used different locations around the city, with many scenes at Orrell Park Community Centre.
As this programme is self-made, those making it had to find the funds to be able to create the series and £240 was raised through IndieGoGo, which helped contribute to the production.
