Merseyside Police are appealing for help in tracing missing Wirral man John Ankers.
John, who is 28, was last seen heading to where he works at the Blockbuster store in Birkenhead at around 10.15am on Sunday morning, but he did not arrive and has not been in contact since.
His disappearance is said to be completely out of character and concerns are growing for his safety, especially in the recent icy weather.
John is described as white, 5ft 8ins tall, of medium build, with short, straight dark brown hair.
He was last seen wearing a white Ralph Lauren Polo Shirt, a black jacket and blue skinny fit jeans. He also has very distinctive tattoo sleeves on both arms.
His bank account has not been accessed and he only had a small amount of money on him.
Police say John may have travelled to Birkenhead by bus on Sunday morning.
He is also known to frequent the areas of Formby, Liverpool city centre, West Kirby, Heswall, Royden Park and Thurstaston beach.
Efforts have also been made on social networking website Twitter with the hashtag #JohnAnkers being used in the search for him, with a page also being set up on Facebook.
John’s friend Phil Parr, 25, told JMU Journalism: “We just want him to come home now. We are all worried sick. It’s completely unlike John and we just want him to get in contact with us as soon as possible. We want to thank everyone for their support as well.”
