The American-themed restaurant, Ed’s Easy Diner, has expanded its chain by opening a new branch in Liverpool One this week.
This the fast food outlet’s 24th UK branch and is situated on Lord Street in the city centre. The diner boasts a 1950’s theme and is spread over two floors. Diners can relax by choosing to listen to their favourite hits from the era on jukeboxes where every penny is donated to the Action against Hunger charity.
The interior is based on classic American Diners and includes a choice of booths or bar stools for customers to sit at. The restaurant also features an open kitchen where customers can watch their food being prepared right in front of their eyes.
Andrew Guy, managing director of Ed’s Easy Diner, told JMU Journalism that he is pleased with the response from locals so far, saying: “It’s been a busy start with lots of locals turning up to check out our all-American diner so we’re thrilled.
“Everyone seems very impressed with the restaurant and plenty of people have been tweeting over the past few weeks in anticipation which is always a good sign.”
Ed’s Easy Diner has expanded massively since its first restaurant opened in Soho, London in 1987 and has spread internationally with a Joe’s Easy Diner situated in Cape Town, South Africa.
The cuisine offered at Ed’s is in keeping with the 1950’s US theme. Offering breakfast, lunch and dinner, customers can choose from a range of food including pancakes, burgers and unique milkshakes.
Guy added: “Ed’s is all about serving US classics in a casual, fun environment. We’re open morning, noon and night so hopefully we’ll be rocking with the people of Liverpool around the clock.”
