Disney has joined forces with Liverpool-based Lime Pictures to create a non-animated, four-part film.
BAFTA-winning Lime Pictures is responsible for creating popular programmes such as Hollyoaks and The Only Way Is Essex.
The production, called Evermoor, will be Disney’s largest ever UK production and will be filmed this summer. It will also be the first live-action movie produced in the UK for broadcast on Disney Channel US and will be shown this autumn in 160 countries worldwide.
Evermoor will be a mystery adventure incorporated with comedy and will be filmed in Arley Hall, Cheshire.
The film follows Tara Bailey, an American teenager who has just been uprooted from her city home in the US and brought to Evermoor, a beautiful, but isolated village on the edge of some very creepy moors in middle England.
While Tara’s famous novelist mum and step-dad are busy unpacking at Evermoor Manor, the Bailey kids, Tara’s brother Jake and her British step-siblings Seb and Bella, try to adjust to life in their new home.
It’s not long before danger, mystery and intrigue unfurls and Tara and Seb have to unite to save their new home and their family’s new start in England.
Claire Poyser, joint managing director for Lime Pictures, said: “We are delighted to be the first independent production company in the UK to work with Disney on a live action movie to be aired worldwide including the US. Evermoor extends Lime’s reputation for producing fantastic children’s drama that is inspiring for the whole family.”
