A journey that began with remote-learning Zoom classes during the Covid-19 pandemic, followed by two further years of study at the Redmonds Building, culminated in a day of celebration as JMU Journalism’s Class of 2023 marked their graduation day.
Family and friends watched on with pride at the Anglican Cathedral as the convocation ceremony unfolded, with Liverpool John Moores University Pro-Vice Chancellor, Professor Joe Yates, leading the proceedings.
Guests then moved onto LJMU’s John Lennon Art and Design Building for a congratulatory ‘Toast to Your success’ gathering with staff, and prizes were also given for notable academic achievements.
Head of Journalism, Fran Yeoman, said: “This year’s graduates joined LJMU Journalism in lockdown and it is fantastic to be able to celebrate with them in person as three years of hard work is rewarded with their well-earned degrees. I can’t wait to see what they go on to do next, and look forward to seeing more LJMU-trained journalists achieving great things in the media and beyond.”
