A new gin bar and distillery has officially opened, just in time for the Christmas period.
The Liverpool Gin Distillery opened on Saturday on Castle Street and is owned by Halewood Wines and Spirits, which is widely recognised for its own brand of Liverpool Gin.
To set them apart from other bars in the city centre, the newly-opened business offers visitors the chance to learn the process of distilling gin.
Staff will take their customers to the ‘Gin Laboratories’ where they will be educated on the history of the drink and have the opportunity to explore the process behind the making it.

Customers will not leave empty-handed, as they have the chance to produce and name their very own bottle of Liverpool Gin.
Assistant manager, Rebecca Haycox, told JMU Journalism: “We welcome our visitors to take a guided tour of our distillery to discover the history of gin in Liverpool and learn about our gin-making techniques. They will also be embarked on a four flight gin tasting experience where they can sample the iconic Liverpool Gin Range.
“As well as that, we offer experiences for corporate clients, drinks receptions and other private parties. These are really fun and make a great day and night out where you will be looked after by our experienced staff members.”
Lewis Krater visited the new distillery while he was Christmas shopping in the city centre. He left very impressed and told JMU Journalism: “My visit was great. The layout inside is great and the bar is easy to get to.
“The staff were friendly and very knowledgeable about gin. I would love to go back again.”
