A book documenting Liverpool’s most successful ever event is set to become a bestseller in the next few weeks.
‘In the footsteps of Giants’ is a 104-page book about the Sea Odyssey, the event which marked the centenary of the Titanic’s sinking. The book was commissioned by Liverpool City Council, and the full first print run was completely sold out.
Around 3,000 copies have been sold and there are currently only limited numbers available.
The book contains almost 150 images of the exhibition which took place earlier this year. The pictures show the journey of the Little Girl Giant, her Uncle and her dog Xolo and how they travelled around Liverpool.
The images were taken by professional and amateur photographers, after the Council urged people attending the event to forward any photos to their office. In all, over 5,000 images were received before the number was cut down to 147 for the book.
The book is priced at £9.99, and is available at the Tourist Information centres in St George’s Hall and Albert Dock, the Liverpool ONE information centre as well as Waterstones on Bold Street and in Liverpool One.
