Game lovers will have their meat and competition needs satisfied at a new event that is coming to Liverpool.
The Game and Grill festival will take place on March 5th at Constellations on Greenland Street, with Liverpool being one of 15 new cities hit by the iPlayGaming team.
Consoles from over the last 30 years will be available for gamers for fun or to take part in a big-screen competition.
The event was created last July when directors of iPlayGaming, Michael Davies and Charlotte Stockton, reminisced over the times gaming was a social activity and not something done from a dark bedroom over wi-fi.
Davies, who was a student at John Moores University and lived in the city for three years, told JMU Journalism: “My experience of the city being so vibrant and friendly meant we wanted it to be one of the first places to host our festivals.
“The fun and sociable atmosphere created by the people of Liverpool will make iPlayGaming Festival even better than ever before.”
Stockton added: “We are so excited to be bringing iPlayGaming to Liverpool. After the gaming sessions have ended attendees can stay and party some more.”
Competition winners can expect free drinks alongside bragging rights for being the best gamer in the joint. But the event is there to promote playing just for fun so less experienced players need not worry. Attendees can choose from an array of Playstations, XBOX and Nintendo games as well as retro arcade games.
Alongside the gaming, food and drink will be available from the burger and hotdog bar. The event starts at 7pm and will continue until 1am.
The Mario-kart race is on for tickets. They can be purchased from the iPlayGaming website and are £15 per ticket.
