After a week of fun activities, first year students are now attending formal classes at JMU Journalism, as well as getting used to their timetables and new surroundings.
All staff members were on hand to welcome the freshers to the Redmonds Building last Monday, with lectures and workshops beginning a week later.
Aside from the introductory sessions, students on both undergraduate programmes took part in a treasure hunt around Liverpool city centre, as well as a field trip to either Aintree Racecourse or the British Music Experience.
A lively pub quiz night at Frederiks bar on Hope Street was one of the most popular events, but now it’s down to business as the learning and hard work begins.
Head of Journalism, Fran Yeoman, said: “It is great to welcome our newest trainee journalists into the department and I’m looking forward to getting to know them better over the next few weeks.
“It is always exciting to meet people at the start of their three years with us, with so many brilliant experiences ahead of them and I will enjoy watching them develop as part of our LJMU Journalism community.”
