The Epstein Theatre will now play host to marriages in its 380-seater venue for the first time ever after gaining a wedding licence.
The Hanover Street-based theatre officially launched as a wedding venue in recent weeks with packages allowing brides and grooms to exchange their vows live on stage.
Couples can also enjoy their wedding breakfast in the theatre’s Grand Foyer and get ready in their dressing rooms. The theatre dates back to 1913 and has already taken a booking from Martin Smith and Hannah Moss, both from Liverpool.
Ticketing and Events Manager, Megan Lowry, told JMU Journalism: “Our first wedding takes place this Spring on 1st May and is the first of 4 weddings we have booked in so far. The response has been fantastic to our exciting news with many couples intrigued as to what Epstein can offer for their special day.”
The Grade II listed building usually hosts drama groups, pantomimes, comedies and dramas. It was refurbished in 2011 andwas renamed in memory of The Beatles manager Brian Epstein.
As a theatre, the new wedding venue is a lot more innovative than holding the big event in a church.
From getting married on stage, to sitting on the red velvet theatre seats, Lowry added: “We feel hosting a wedding at The Epstein Theatre will be unique as the venue is such a beautiful space, enriched with history in Liverpool.
“With the full use of the Grand Foyer, Brian’s Bar, Auditorium and our backstage dressing rooms we really do offer some of the most picturesque photograph opportunities you could wish for.”
