Local youngsters are to be given the chance to walk alongside Everton and Liverpool stars at the next Merseyside derby.
Liverpool Mutual Homes has partnered with Everton in the Community to offer up to 20 children, aged between five and 14, the opportunity to be mascots at Goodison Park next February.
Competition winners will be drawn from a hat by the Blues captain Phil Jagielka, and receive a free ticket to the game as well as an Everton or Liverpool football kit.
Steve Coffey, Liverpool Mutual Homes chief executive, said: “This is a once in a lifetime chance to share the hallowed Goodison turf with the stars of both Everton and Liverpool in the world’s greatest derby.
“As well as being side-by-side with the players at the start of the match to experience the unique atmosphere, the host of additional prizes are absolutely fantastic with full kits, souvenir gifts and tickets to the match being handed out.
He added: “This is a day that will create childhood memories that will last forever for those lucky enough to win.”
The winners will enjoy an exclusive package of photographs with the players on the pitch, a mention in the match programme, a souvenir bag and the chance to participate fun activities with Everton in the Community.
The competition is open to residents who live in an LMH property and can nominate up to 10 children who are related to them.
Denise Barrett-Baxendale, CEO at Everton in the Community, said: “We are delighted to be able to offer this once in a lifetime opportunity to the families that we work with through Liverpool Mutual Homes.
She added: “The draw will be taking place before Christmas so the youngsters will have plenty of time to get excited! We are really looking forward to welcoming everyone to Goodison Park.”
