Liverpool’s Anglican Cathedral provided a majestic setting as family and friends gathered to celebrate the achievements of JMU Journalism’s Class of 2024 on graduation day.
The rainy weather did not cast a shadow on the happy occasion, as students marked the end of their three-year journey studying at Liverpool John Moores University in traditional style. The ceremony closed with the conferral of Bachelor of Arts with Honours degrees by LJMU Vice-Chancellor and Chief Executive, Professor Mark Power.
Following the convocation, guests headed to LJMU’s John Lennon Art and Design Building for a congratulatory ‘Toast to Your success’ event with staff. Prizes were also handed out to graduates with notable academic achievements.
Head of Journalism, Fran Yeoman, said: “Graduation day is an absolute highlight of my year because it is an opportunity to stop and celebrate the hard work and talent of our students.
“Some of those getting their degree today have already secured fantastic employment in the journalism industry – before they’ve even graduated – and I can’t wait to see what everyone else goes on to do. There is a real community within our department and the team are really proud of all our students’ achievements.”
