JMU Journalism second year student Adrienne Facey blogs about experiences this year that she will always remember.
With university back in full swing, I wanted to take a moment of gratitude to reflect on the past few months that have flown by.
In May, I was hosted by Shanghai Normal University for a two-week summer school, where I worked with peers to produce, direct, and deliver documentaries.
I’m so proud of my team for the way we captured the essence of Shanghai. From the questions I posed, it became vividly clear that Shanghai is not just a place, but a true space.
As Liverpool’s sister city, it was easy to see why – a real home away from home.
A huge thank you is given to Liverpool John Moores University’s Go Abroad team and everyone involved in the application process, as well as the staff and students at Shanghai Normal for their incredible hospitality.
I have truly made friends for life and can’t wait to return in the future.
In July, I also began a new role as a student marketeer in Liverpool. I’ve loved supporting events, meeting the amazing Red Bull family, and bringing energy to the north.
Now, my second year of studies is underway and I’m ready for the challenges of Level 5, refining everything I’ve learnt so far and continuing to represent my peers as a course rep for BA Journalism.
Bring it on!
