Liverpool will soon be home to a shop with a difference – Wardrobe Mistresses, a clothing store that fundraises through fashion shows.
After opening several years ago in Epping, near London, they have helped numerous schools, churches, charities and individuals raise vital funds for causes close to their hearts.
The charity enables fundraisers to make their money from the tickets sold and all the clothes shown in the fashion show are provided by the Wardrobe Mistresses.
The fashion shows are free of charge and the owners, Cathy O’Sullivan and Trina Yardley, have now chosen to move their charity up north.
Cathy said: “We have wanted to move out of London for some years now and, as Liverpool is known for its love of fashion, where else could we have chosen?
“Our charity is something that not a lot of people have heard of. A wardrobe mistress is normally someone who makes sure people have clothes in their hotel rooms but we liked the idea of this and gave it our own twist and thought why not help those in need.”
Trina said: “We are interested in having a shop in the city centre where people can come in and personally speak to us rather than it all being done over the web. We love meeting new people and hearing about what they are fundraising for.”
Not every aspect is about charity either; the team can bring their exciting range of accessories and gifts to people’s homes too. The team can create the ultimate girls night in – spend the evening with friends, have a catch up over a coffee or a glass of wine and shop at the same time.
Cathy said: “This is an easy and great fun option that we provide to groups of friends who want to do something different and we can’t wait to share this with the women of Liverpool.”
