The journey has begun for a new batch of students at JMU Journalism as induction week activities have kept the freshers busy, informed and entertained while they start their degree courses.
The first years arrived at Liverpool John Moores University on Monday and got straight down to business by meeting members of staff, fellow students and people who may well turn out to be lifelong friends.
Aside from getting familiar with the buildings and classrooms at LJMU, the Journalism cohort visited the British Music Experience and took a ferry across the Mersey, while the sports groups enjoyed a tour of the world-famous Aintree Racecourse.
There was also a treasure hunt and a pub quiz on the agenda, as the week concluded in a workshop where people took part in what for many would have been their first experience of interviewing somebody.
Head of Journalism, Fran Yeoman, said: “Induction week is always really exciting because the campus comes to life as all the new students arrive for the start of their university lives. It has been great to meet some of our latest trainee journalists to join our community here at LJMU Journalism and I am looking forward to seeing them progress over the coming weeks and months.”
