Christy has taught shorthand at LJMU since January 2018.
She is a former JMU Journalism student and during her time at university, she won prizes for her work at the Liverpool Echo and the Linda LaPlante fund award for best journalism project.
Christy interned with Claire House Children’s Hospice and The Independent on Sunday during her time at LJMU, and was selected to represent the university on a month-long journalism trip to Hangzhou, China in 2015. She is also the founder of the JMU Journalism society, which still runs to this day.
After graduating with a first class degree in Journalism, Christy finished her PGCE from the University of Chester a year later. She has worked in two local secondary schools on the Wirral, teaching both English and Media, before transitioning to teaching in higher education.
