Gifted artists, singers, dancers and comedians brought a touch of magic to the Autism’s Got Talent show on the Wirral.
The annual roadshow is normally based in London but finally made it to the North West at the Floral Pavilion in New Brighton, thanks to a partnership with the charity ‘Autism Together.’
Support from commercial sponsors Wirral Chamber and Medicash made the evening possible.
The talent show was first established by autism campaigner, Anna Kennedy OBE ,and featured 19 acts, all of whom had different skills to showcase to the public.
It featured no winner or judge system and is based freely on the celebration of the people involved.
Autism Together’s Head of Communications Kate McCann told JMU Journalism: “We had about 30-40 people send in video clips and then we got together and selected a shortlist which was really hard, but the ones we’ve got are a lovely selection of individuals and all of them have got a unique talent.”
It was hosted by Radio City presenter Claire Simmo with special guests who introduced some of the acts on stage, one being Cheryl Fergison, who brought buckets of her amazing personality to the stage.

The night brought a new-found knowledge of the struggles young people and adults go through when dealing with the effects of autism and gave them an opportunity to showcase what they love.
Miss Kennedy told JMU Journalism said: “We’re so busy but we’re so excited to be at the roadshow. I’m so proud of all our performers tonight they’ve really stepped it up from the rehearsals to the performances”
Talent was abundant during each and every performance with some stories so heartfelt it filled the room with tears, with huge applause given to the acts.
