Grab your skates because Liverpool’s very own winter wonderland is back.
Situated at Pier Head with the waterfront serving as a beautiful backdrop, the Liverpool Ice Festival has returned, promising to be bigger and better than last year.
With lots of family-friendly fun, the festival’s activities include an ice rink, which has been expanded for more skating space this year.
Thrillseekers can also enjoy the set-up’s longest real ice slide, with an additional 30 metre-run added for daredevils who want to take off from six metres above the pier.
The site also hosts a range of funfair rides, including the UK’s only Ice Jet ride and new child-friendly rollercoasters.
Fun combines with traditional Christmas markets and pop-up food courts serving up a variety of snacks, plus three outdoor German-style bars and a cabin that specialises in sweet treats such as Nutella crepes and chocolate-covered strawberries.
Iliana Olymbios, PR executive of Liverpool Ice Festival, told JMU Journalism: “This will be the third year for the festival at its iconic waterfront location, featuring Liverpool’s biggest-ever ice slide and a huge covered outdoor rink giving skaters the chance to glide in style with a stunning backdrop of the world-famous Three Graces.
“The Ice Festival is suited for people of all ages and abilities, there’s something for everyone.”
The festival runs through Christmas and New Year until January 6th. For more information or to book tickets for some of the activities, visit the official Liverpool Ice Festival website here.
