Flowers have been laid in tribute to a woman from Merseyside whose body has been found in Liverpool Canning Half Tide Dock.
Police were called to the scene at around 8:40am on Sunday after the woman known as ‘Katie’, believed to be a mother in her thirties, was discovered by a passer-by near the Billy Fury statue.
Merseyside police, the coastguard and ambulance services arrived at the scene where she was pulled from the water and pronounced dead.
A large number of emergency service vehicles were present at the Liverpool docks throughout the morning as the pathway was closed off by police for further investigation.
The cause of death is being investigated by police – however, it is not being treated as suspicious.
Tributes are also being paid to Katie on social media.
One friend wrote: “One moment you’re here the next you’re not, rest easy. My thoughts are with your family and your boys ”
Another message said: “RIP Katie you will be missed so much and my thoughts to the kids and the family.”
Merseyside police are urging anyone with additional information to call 101.
