Knowsley Council has published its draft masterplan for the regeneration of Huyton village.
The council says it aims to support the identity of Huyton village as a thriving civic and retail centre serving the local community, raising its visibility and promoting investment opportunities within the area.
The regeneration is set to take place up until 2028. Knowsley Council is working in partnership with Allies & Morrison Ltd to create the vision for Huyton village.
A Knowsley Council statement reads: “In 2028, Huyton village will be a thriving attractive destination providing new commercial, retail and residential opportunities that will be at the heart of the local community.
“Building on its excellent road and rail connectivity it will have strengthened its role as the administrative and commercial hub of the borough. The village centre will be more accessible with an improved public realm occupied by a mix of well-known retailers and smaller independent businesses so that it becomes a vibrant place which meets the needs of a growing local population.”
Knowsley Council is also urging residents to have their say on the masterplan, allowing people to fill out and submit a form with any suggestions or concerns about the redevelopment.
All comments must be received by Knowsley Council no later than 5pm on Wednesday January 11th 2017.

Councillor Mike Murphy, Knowsley’s Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Economic Development, said: “This latest speculative development is a further demonstration of the confidence that developers have in Knowsley as a place to do business.
“It is also positive news for Huyton Business Park as this is a key site which provides potential occupiers with a high quality modern facility to meet their business needs for years to come.”
