An inspirational young Everton fan who has touched the hearts of Blues fans in his fight against cerebral palsy has raised hundreds of pounds for charity.
George Shaw, a 10-year-old from Ellesmere Port, has raised more than £400 to the Stick n’ Step charity, which works with disabled children.
To raise awareness for Stick n’ Step, Everton supporter George wanted to raise funds during World Cerebral Palsy Week.
The charity, which started in 2002, offers free support services across the North West to children and their families with the condition, providing specialist programmes to enhance learning and social skills.
This isn’t the first time George has made an impact with his efforts. He won Everton’s goal of the month competition in January and fulfilled his dream of scoring at Goodison Park during match day, also meeting his heroes Gerard Deulofeu and Kevin Mirallas.
George told JMU Journalism: “I spoke to my teachers at school about wanting to raise money for Stick n’ Step as I have been going there since I was little. They have helped me so much and I wanted to give something back.
“My [school] uniform is green and thought it would be a good idea to get the whole school to wear my favourite colour blue for the day.”
Pupils and teachers at Whitby Heath Primary School followed the dress code and all took part by donating £1.

Dad David said: “He’s just a lovely lad who is always wanting to help others. We are so proud of him it’s untrue.
“We were told by doctors when George was 18 months old that he will never be able to walk and he proved them all wrong. Stick n’ Step have done so much for him over the years we can’t thank them enough.”
