Cream nightclub is set to return and take Liverpool by storm again next week as it opens for the first time at its new premises.
Liverpool SU Mountford Hall is set to host Cream on Saturday February 20th, marking the first night since its traditional Nation venue was closed in late-December, ending a run that had lasted since 1992.
The all-new Cream event next weekend will feature performances by world-renowned DJs such as Steve Aoki, Philip George, Sigala and Anton Powers.
A spokesperson for Cream told JMU Journalism: “The Elliot Group have taken on board the importance of retaining the cultural and musical hub that Wolstenholme Square offered and our ideas and ethos for the new venue.
“Cream and the thousands of people who have passed through Nation’s doors hold a deep attachment to the venue and what it stands for and the plans present us with an incredible opportunity to create an exciting new music venue for the city.”
The iconic nightclub was founded by Andy Carroll, James Barton and Darren Hughes and Cream grew to have a worldwide reputation on the club night scene.
LJMU student Elin Roberts ,20, said: “I went to the last Cream event at Nation and it was one of the best I’ve ever been to so of course I’m going to the one in February. It’s not about where it is, it will be a good night anyway. I’m so excited.”
