Liverpool’s social elite gathered at the Titanic Hotel last Saturday to celebrate all things Scouse at the Juice FM Style Awards.
The Rum Warehouse at the Stanley Dock venue saw celebrity guests take their seats as Singer Becky Hill opened the ceremony with her hit Gecko.
Awards were presented to thirteen of the most stylish hotels, the best places to eat and the most iconic people in Liverpool.
Smugglers Cove on the Albert Dock was crowned the best restaurant whilst the award for Best Hotel went to hospitality giants Hilton.
Hilton Liverpool’s general manager Marcus Magree expressed his delight telling JMU Journalism: “We are very proud to be part of this city, and any award we get just acknowledges all the hard work our guys put in so it’s great.
“Liverpool as a city that has so much to offer, whether that be in retail, commercial or football. It’s just a great place to be at the moment. I just wish there was more awards like this to raise the profile of the city.”
A special Icon Award was presented to Hillsbrough Justice Campaigner Margaret Aspinall who dedicated her award to the 96 victims and thousands of survivors of the 1989 tragedy.
Aspinall was left stunned by a standing ovation upon collecting her award, saying: “We are determined that we will get the justice for that innocent 96, and give everybody the spirit and will to fight for any injustice that happens.”
Others winners included Big Brother’s Mark Byron as Most Stylish Scouser and tattoo shop L1 ink collected the Business Enterprise Award.
Speaking to JMU Journalism, L1 ink manager Scotty Tynan said: “I am overwhelmed I didn’t expect this at all. It’s brilliant and down to these guys, I have the best group of staff I could possibly ask for. I am more than happy.”
His business partner and Leicester City footballer Wes Morgan added: “It’s obviously a great achievement to an award like this, I’m sure it’s one of many achievements to come.”
The ceremony closed with a performance from UK rapper Wretch 32.
