The most family friendly airport in England this year is Liverpool John Lennon Airport, and it is ranked third in the whole of the UK, according to a survey by travel website Skyscanner.
In total, a thousand people were surveyed by Skyscanner and Liverpool received favourable ratings, while at the top of the UK list were the Scottish airports in Edinburgh and Glasgow.
Robin Tudor, head of PR for Liverpool John Lennon Airport, told JMU Journalism: “We think this is great news. We have spent a lot of money on improvements in the airport and people like what they see.
“We have spent a lot on improvement to the security checks as it is important to get people fast and smoothly through the system. It’s much better now. That is the main fact,” said Mr Tudor.
This is the first time Liverpool JLA is on the Skyscanner list and Mr Tudor is delighted to be nominated as the top-ranked airport in England.
He said: “We like to be the best, we know we are a friendly airport to families and we want to improve this to attract more people. It’s a nice little boost in the summer holiday. We recognise there’s always room for improvement. Now we are looking at customer services and we are working to improve the staff services to all passengers.”
