India’s largest information technology services provider is set to create 300 new jobs in Liverpool, having announced an expansion to their operations in the UK.
Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) plans to open a new delivery centre in July of this year, which is set to generate 300 IT jobs on Tithebarn Street in Liverpool.
Having secured a multi-million pound contract with the Home Office, TCS will use the facility in Liverpool to deliver services as well as managing the technology needs and support services of the Disclosure and Barring service (DBS).
Speaking to JMU Journalism, TCS Country Head for the UK and Ireland, Shankar Narayanan said: “This facility demonstrates TCS’ long-term commitment to expanding skills and work opportunities in the UK. This particular centre will house 300 employees.
“The delivery centre will specifically provide government services to the Home Office Disclosure and Barring Service. There is existing expertise in Liverpool in delivering public sector services to the Home Office and it was a logical choice of location to take advantage of this capability.”
At present, TCS have an innovation lab based in Peterborough, as well as offices in London, Nottingham, Manchester, London and Edinburgh.
The company is also known for enabling service transformation for some of its key government clients in the UK, such as National Employment Savings Trust (NEST), Cardiff City Council and The Big Lottery Fund, amongst others.
