Wirral Junior Chess teams gathered in Heswall to raise money for Children in Need.
For the third year running, Rubens coffee shop in Heswall played host to the fundraising event.

More than 30 members of the Wirral Junior Chess team turned up on the day to compete against each other until every one had a game.Families and friends were there to support the children and some parents even gave it a go themselves.
Manager of the Wirral Junior Chess teams, Matt Battersby, said: “It’s nice for the kids to have somewhere different to play against each other, next year to raise money for Children in Need we want to try and break the Guinness World record for the most players playing one game of chess.”
The event kicked off at 10am and ran right through until 3pm.
Last year members of the chess team took part in the same style fundraiser and raised just over £150, this year thanks to generous supporters and other customers at Rubens Coffee shop £145 had already been raised by midday.
