Liverpool employment prospects have received a boost after a large sales firm announced 100 new jobs in the city and has plans to create more.
American company ServiceSource sells services to some of the world’s largest technology firms and currently employs around 200 people in Liverpool.
Councillor Nick Small, Cabinet Member for Employment, Enterprise & Skills, said: “It’s great news for the city. Anyone who comes to Liverpool offering employment we welcome with open arms.
“It will encourage other companies to invest in the city. A lot is happening here at the moment we have just had the £5.5bn waterfront scheme approved, so Liverpool is definitely worth investing in.”
The firm, which opened in Liverpool just over two years ago, is based in The Plaza at Old Hall Street. ServiceSource said they want to expand further in Liverpool, creating more jobs.
Liverpool’s annual business survey has also revealed that the city’s business confidence is at a six-year high.
Councillor Small said: “It’s all about creating confidence and showing that we’re open for business. Liverpool is a vibrant city with a lot going on. We have a brilliant work force out there and a good education system.
“It is a great vote of confidence when companies come to Liverpool and provide jobs.”
