A Hollywood sculptor has created busts of Liverpool FC legends Steven Gerrard and Kenny Dalglish in the hope that they will be included in the regeneration of Anfield stadium.
The talented artist, 47-year-old Steven Hunter, has contributed to a number of star-studded movies, from the likes of Sherlock Holmes, Life of PI and The Da Vinci Code.
As a Liverpool supporter, Steven has turned some of his focus away from the glitz and glam of movie sets to focus on developing realistic sculptures of the two famous Reds players.
Mr Hunter told JMU Journalism: “They represent two eras of the greats in Liverpool FC, Gerrard being the modern era and Dalglish being the more traditional.”
Each bust has taken around 40 hours to create and is still a work in progress, an effort which has been praised by Liverpool fans on Twitter.
He added: “I want to make this. I want people to see them and say that’s what we want. But these would only be one part of it. A statue would be great but I’d also like to include the likes of Bob Paisley or the original ‘Boot Room’ boys.”
Steven is hopeful his work will be recognised by Anfield regeneration chiefs and be included in the future development.
Mr Hunter added: “It’s real sculpture, its figurative, its classical and traditional, which is how I work.”
